CREWPLEX DR10 FAQs

  • How many users can a CrewPlex DR10 system support?
    • The DR10 system can accommodate an unlimited number of users. As many as 10 duplex users or 9 full-duplex users plus an unlimited number of users communicating in a shared or listen only mode, if necessary.
  • What does it mean to have a pack in shared mode?
    • All users operating in this mode are sharing a talk path and can talk one at a time. Communication remains full duplex, but the talk button functions in a momentary (press and hold) method.
  • How many separate channels (conversations) can be had on DR10?
    • 2 Channels
  • Can the Talk button be set to momentary on the pack?
    • The talk button can be used in a momentary method by pressing and holding the talk button while speaking. Upon release, the talk button will not latch or stay active.
  • What radio frequency does the CrewPlex DR10 operate in?
    • 900MHz
  • Does the DR10 require a basestation?
    • The DR10 requires no basestation and uses pack-to-pack communication.  Each system designates a pack to serve as the “master” pack to provide system timing and synchronization, but this pack may be user worn.
  • If the primary master goes down or the battery is being replaced, can another unit take over as master?
    • Yes, but not automatically. Any pack can be designated as the master pack, but must be manually set within the menu of the pack. Only one master can be set up per system.
  • Will the system continue to work as expected other than losing connected ports if the master goes offline?
    • No, the system requires the master pack to be on for the rest of the system to operate.
  • Does the DR10 require a specific headset?
    • The DR10 is compatible with CrewPlex’s SmartBoom PRO and LITE electret headsets as well as a variety of specialty in-ear options suitable for a variety of applications and environments.
  • How long is the battery life?
    • 12 hours
  • How do I charge DR10 batteries?
    • The DR10 battery can be charged within the pack via USB to Mini-USB or with an optional 5+5 Bay Drop-in Charger. The charger enables up to 5 packs and 5 additional batteries to be charged simultaneously.
  • Is the battery removable and rechargeable in the charger without pack?
    • Yes
  • Is the CrewPlex DR10 compatible with the CrewPlex DR5?
    • No, these models cannot be used together on the same system. However, the RF groups can be coordinated to collocate as two separate systems.
  • Is the CrewPlex DR10 compatible with MicroCom?
    • No, these models cannot be used together on the same system. However, the RF groups can be coordinated to collocate as two separate systems.
  • Can the DR10 interconnect with a two-way radio?
    • CrewPlex offers compatible radio adapter cables for a number of mobile/two-way radios.  For a list of compatible radio models click here.
  • Is the DR10 voice-activated (VoX)?
    • No. The DR10 is a full-duplex, wireless communication system that provides users with a latch-capable talk button enabling hands-free operation. Multiple users can carry on a conversation while talking at the same time like a conference call. VoX technology remains less reliable and offers half duplex communication which allows only one person to speak at any given time
  • Can I use DR10 outdoors in the rain?
    • Yes, it is certified as IP67 for protection from water and dust and has been proven to work in harsh environments.

      • CrewPlex products are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of sale to the end-user, under the following conditions:
    • How do I get a free second year of warranty?
      • First year of warranty is included with the purchase.
      • Second year of warranty requires product registration on the Pliant web site. You must register your products in order to get a second year of free warranty.   You may register your products on our website HERE or simply send us an email with your company information and product serial numbers or invoice.
